The reason I think this information is so important is because even close to home, major colonies of bees are being wiped out. Just in the past year a local apiary company in Guelph lost 49 of their 50 colonies inside Guelph city limits over a couple of days after an adjacent field of soybeans was planted using seed coated in a neonicotinoid pesticide. Other bees have died due to the removal of plants vital to their survival and other pesticides.
This might not seem like a big deal, perhaps other bugs can take over pollination, but it's not that simple. Watch the video below. It's well worth it.
