Well....it's glorified portion control really. Not to mention the packaging waste on these products is just ridiculous!
Think about it honestly: All they've done is taken your beloved snack treats and pre-portioned them for you. The formula hasn't changed. That cookie is not magically healthier for you. Someone has just saved you the trouble of busting out your measuring cup or scale.
And another thing: is this even satisfying? Do you really feel happy after the 6 little whittled down Doritos chips? Does it tie you over long enough till your next meal?
No. If you are saying yes to your computer screen right now, you weren’t really hungry to begin with.
These treats are no good for you to begin with. They are high is salt, fat and sugar. All things that while tasty do not fall into the satisfying category. And it hardly counts as portion control if you rip into four of the little baggies instead of one.
Let's face it, if you eat the right number of calories to maintain your body weight or even lose weight, but 50% of those calories are coming from junk food (even if it is in that shiny small package), what favour are you really doing your body?
Cut back on those extra foods as much as you can but include enough that you can still remain happy. Fill up on things that are going to benefit you and satisfy you like fruits, veggies and whole grains.
If you need help portion controlling so bad, keep this junk out of the house and stick to single serve packages of it when you are out of the house and treating yourself. One single serve bag of chips at the end of the week will do a whole lot less damage then a 100 calorie packet of the same chip eat night.
