A medium milkshake at a standard fast food restaurant will come in at around:
-700-800 calories (depending on how it's flavored)
-18-20g of fat (if they are using full fat ice cream) Note that 11g or more will be saturated (bad) fat.
-400-600mg of sodium (that's almost 1/3 of your salt for the day)
-120-140g of carbs (and with no fibre in this drink, that means it all gets turned into sugar. So it's like taking in about 28-34tsp of sugar and at least 25 teaspoons of that is coming from ADDED sugar)
So if you are thinking of adding that milkshake to your meal order...you may want to think it over again. That milk shake may be more calories then your whole meal.
Kind of scary when you think about it huh?
