I recommend a LOWER fat diet as opposed to a LOW fat diet.
Fat is an essential part of our bodies. It makes up our brain, skin and many of the hormones we produce. Cutting out too much fat can cause you to miss out on a number of things including essential monosaturated and polyunsaturated fats which help boost our good cholesterol to protect your heart. You can also be missing out on fat soluable vitamins such as A,E and K which do a variety things including keeping your eyes, skin, hair, bones and blood all healthy.
The other common danger with cutting out too much fat is many low fat products will replace fats in foods with carbohydrates like refined white sugar, sometimes making them higher in calories than their original product.
So aim overall for a LOWER fat diet. Choose lean meats and low fat dairy products, but be sure to include lots of healthy fats from fish, nuts, seeds, avocado and plant based oils.
