The Big Gulp?
The little hot dogs rolling on metal cylinders to stay warm?
The walls of candy and chips?
How about mashed potatoes?
That's right! For only $2.00 you can get a little tub of mashed potatoes topped with chicken gravy (gravy optional at no extra cost) to go with your Big Gulp!
The new mashed potato vending machines are taking off by storm. They have yet to arrive in North America and there is no telling if they ever will, but it's quite popular in Singapore right now.
Let's put aside the fact that I have a huge bone to pick with any solid food that is dispensed from tubes (Like a certain chihuahua endorsed Taco Chain).
It's terrible, but it appears to be potato flakes, salt and flavoring (perhaps of actual potato) that are dispensing out with some water. You can see in the video below that the potato comes out wet first and then magically solidifies. That's the potato flakes absorbing the water. .I don't even want to take a guess at the gravy. How you can keep gravy in the back of a Slurpee machine is beyond my understanding.
I haven't uncovered any nutritional information or an ingredients list yet (Then again I don't think you'd want to know).
On the upside, you can use the straw from your Big Gulp to suck down the mashed potatoes! Then proceed directly to the emergency room.
What's next 7/11? Spaghetti and meatball Slurpee?
Check out the demo of the machine down below:
