When it came to the table it looked a little like what you see above. It had BBQ eel (tasty) in a pancake (also tasty) topped with fish flakes (hmm). Now I'm not sure what fish flakes are. We debated at length if it was dry bits of fish or the flakes you would feed to your fish (I'm really hoping the prior). Regardless, that was not my biggest concern. The part that scared me was the fact that the flakes were moving....almost dancing.
I figured it must be the heat of the plate causing it, but I touched the plate and it was cold. Then perhaps it's a breeze in the room, so I held my hands around the flakes only to be horrified by their continued wriggling.
Like troopers though, we ate the pancake. It wasn't too bad, but it did get progressively fishier as we ate it. I don't think I'd order it again. We ate it over the majority of our meal, which it danced through the entire time as it sat beside us. I had nightmares that night about fish flakes opening a roller disco in my tummy.
Needless to say I would put this under one of my less enjoyable experiences. At least I got a good story out of it!
