Peanut Butter on Celery
You might be familiar of this combination from childhood but it works great as an adult too! The crunchy celery can help satisfy that need for a crispy snack while the peanut butter adds a nice sweetness. Not to mention the protein will help to keep you full for longer and more alert through the day! You can substitute any nut butter you prefer for this snack.
Cheese Cubes with Veggie Sticks
It's a similar idea to above. Filling up on high fiber veggies and keeping yourself full with a bit of fat and protein from the cheese. You can mix and match your favorite veggies and cheese to avoid getting bored. I often will chop up vegetables and cheese cubes at the start of the week and put them into containers for an easy grab and go option.
Avocado Yogurt Dip with Crackers
This is one of my all time favorites and it's super easy to make in the morning to take with you. Take 1/4 avocado and mash it with 1/4 cup plain low fat Greek yogurt. Add a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp lime juice. You can add an optional 1/4 tsp cumin and chili powder if you want a little more flavor but it's pretty good as is. Put it in a little air tight container, pack a bag of high fiber crackers and you are ready to go.
Greek Yogurt, Fruit and Oat Parfait
Take your favorite Greek yogurt (preferably plain), mix with your favorite dried fruit and add some raw oats. Works as a snack or for a quick and easy breakfast. For a starter idea, try my Oats and Blueberry Parfait HERE.
Kale and Beet Chips
Why should potatoes get all the credit? It's amazing what you can turn into a tasty chip and there are so many higher fiber and nutrient dense options than just potatoes. Try my beet chips HERE or my kale chip recipe HERE to get started!.
